Learning resources of the department’s-Library, computers, laboratories and other  resources.As regards the learning resources of Political Science department the departmental Library is considered as the most important one. It has 150 books of academic importance which are issued to the students for ready references. The department has also one computer   with Internet connection to serve the teachers and students alike. The main library of the college subscribes necessary Books, journals and periodicals. The department is also benefited from the country wide classroom lectures broadcast by UGC through Edusat.

Modern teaching methods practiced and used of ICT in teaching /Learning.

The department usually applies the traditional classroom teaching method. Apart from the traditional method, the department also takes helps of the modern ICT enable devices like Internet, Power-point presentations and Edusat to augment the traditional method.
Participation of teachers in the academic and personal counseling of students
The teachers of the department take care of the students by providing remedial teaching to the students for their academic upliftment. Personal and general counseling are also provided to the needy students. Extra classes are also arranged by the teachers to supplement the general teaching .The results of the University and College examinations are analyzed and reviewed and proper steps are taken for their progress. Dr. S.N.Gogoi is rendering service as the Coordinator, Distance Education Contact Center of the College under Dibrugarh University.
Details of faculty development programs and teachers who have been benefited during the past two years.
Mr. T. Sonowal attended Refresher course in JNU, New Delhi and NEHU, Shillong. Dr. S.N. Gogoi has attended one orientation course and four refresher courses organized by Gauhati University, North Bengel University, Himachal University, Osmania University and JNU, New Delhi. He has also attended National Conference of IIPA, New Delhi, Regional Conference Of NEIPSA at Shillong & IIPA in Guwahati, Silchar, Dibrugarh University and Demow.         Miss Minu Sonowal attended orientation and refresher course in Dibrugarh University and Gauhati University. Mr. N.Chowchong attended an Orientation Course in Aligarh Muslim University and one Refresher course in NEHU Shillong. The teachers of the department are also encouraged to take part regularly in conferences, symposia, workshops seminars which are organized by University and National level Institutions.
Participation of/Contribution of teachers to the academic activities including teaching, consultancy and research.
The teachers of the department participate in following academic activities:     
i)Study Tours and visits
  • The departmental teachers organize and conduct Tours to various places of localities of educational interest.
  • Every year excursion is organized during puja vacation to visit various places of historical importance of India.
  • The teachers and the students occasionally visit the state assembly to have practical and first hand knowledge about the deliberations and activities of Assembly & Parliament.
ii) Students’ Projects.
  • The student project is a part of Internal Assessment and academic pursuit. The
students are allotted projects in different tropics related to their subject. The
teachers guide the students to prepare the same under their able guidance. Field study, Data collection and survey are integral part of the projects.
iii) Seminars and Group discussions
Holding of seminars and group discussions are the part of the academic activities of the department. The teachers initiate and encourage the students in this respect.
iv)Extension Activities
    • The teachers and students of the departments usually take part in the extension activities like awareness programs on health & hygiene, environment awareness of backward areas of the locality. The students of the department take part in the flood relief and other natural calamities.
    • Dr.S.N.Gogoi has been working as Resource person of SIRD, Duliajan Center. He has already participated as recourse of SIRD in ten programs in various rural areas in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts.
    • Participation in Research Activities
      • Dr. S.N.Gogoi gives guidance to M.Phil scholars.
      • Under his guidance seven scholars obtained M.Phil degree and two others working.
Collaboration with other department/Institutions, at the State, National, International levels, and their outcome during the past two years.
    • The department has formal linkages with State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD). Assam Government.
